Ingredients:
For Marinating:
Chicken pieces (country chicken) – ½ kg
Coconut milk – 3 tablespoons
Ginger garlic paste – ½ tablespoon
Black Pepper powder – ½ teaspoon
Salt – as required
Onion (chopped) – 1 cup
Garlic (chopped) – 2 tablespoon
Green chili (Chopped) – 2
Bay leaf – 1
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
Black Pepper powder – 1 1/2 teaspoons
Lemon juice – 2 tablespoon
Lemon zest (grated lemon peel) – 1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves - for garnishing
Oil – 4 tablespoon
Method:
In a mixing bowl, add the chicken pieces and all the ingredients mentioned under For Marinating. Mix well and marinate for 1 hour. Then, Pressure cook the marinated chicken pieces for 6-8 whistles. Then, heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaf and chopped garlic. Fry for a few seconds until the raw smell goes off and the garlic become slightly brown. Now add chopped onion along with chopped green chili and sauté until onion turns golden brown. Then add cooked chicken pieces and fry on medium heat for 2 minutes, sauteing constantly. Then sprinkle turmeric powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, and salt if required. Reduce the heat, and sauté for a minute. Finally add lemon juice, coriander leaves, and lemon zest. Turn off the stove and serve hot as a starter or as a side dish with rice and rasam.
