Ingredients:
Sun hemp flowers - 4 cups
Onion (chopped) - 2
Green chili (slit) - 3
Coconut oil - 3 tablespoons
Chana dal (split Bengal gram) - 1/2 teaspoon
Urad dal (split Black gram) - 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaf - 1 sprig
Salt - as required
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Method:
Wash the sun hemp flowers thoroughly and drain the water completely. Heat coconut oil in a clay pot. Add chana dal and urad dal. Once they turn slightly golden brown, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Once they start spluttering, add curry leaves. Then add chopped onion and green chilies. Fry until onion turns slightly golden brown. Add sun hemp flowers, salt and turmeric powder. Cover the pot with the lid and cook until the flowers become soft. Turn off the stove and serve as a side dish for rice or roti.
