MUSHROOM PEPPER FRY

Cuisine: Tamilnadu state of India







Ingredients:

Chopped Mushroom – 3 cups

Onion (chopped) – 2 medium

Green chilli (slit) – 4

Salt – as required

Chilli powder – ¼ teaspoon

Pepper powder – ½ teaspoon

Cumin powder – ½ teaspoon

Garam masala – ¼ teaspoon

Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

Oil – 1 tablespoon




Method:

Take a kadai/pan and heat the oil in it. Add chopped onion and green chillies. Once the onion has turned golden brown, add chopped mushroom. The mushroom releases water. So cook until all the water has evaporated and the mushroom has become soft. Then add chilli powder, pepper powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt and turmeric powder. Mix well and turn off the flame. Serve along with rice or as a side dish.




Note:

We used Edible Wild Mushrooms. You can use market-purchased mushrooms also.
