Cuisine: Indian
Ingredients:
Whole wheat flour – 2 cups
Water - as required
Onion – 4 large
Green chillies (finely chopped) – 4
Garam masala – ½ teaspoon
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Chilli powder – ½ teaspoon
Salt – as required
Coconut oil – for frying
Method:
Slice onions into thin and long pieces. Fry them in a little oil until they turn pink. Add Salt, chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and chopped green chillies to the fried onions. Mix well and keep aside. Mix together whole wheat flour and water. Knead into a dough. Make the dough into medium-sized balls. Roll the balls into thin chapatis. Cut the chapati into 3 long pieces with a knife. Take one piece and fold it into a cone shape and stuff the onion mixture. Apply a little water on the edges of the opening and seal it. Make sure there are no cracks. Prepare all the samosas in this way and keep them covered. In a Kadai/pan, heat oil and deep fry the samosas on low flame until they turn golden brown. Serve hot.
