Ingredients:
Plantains (green banana) – 2
Onion (chopped into small pieces) – 2
Green chilli (slit) – 4
Lemon juice – juice of 1 lemon
Salt – as required
Chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon
Seasoning:
Oil – 4 tablespoon
Dry red chilli – 2
Urad dal (split black gram) – ½ teaspoon
Chana dal (split Bengal gram) – ½ teaspoon
Mustard seeds – ¼ teaspoon
Cumin seeds – ¼ teaspoon
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
Method:
Pressure cook the whole plantains for 2 whistles. Then, peel the cooked plantains and chop them into small cubes. In a pan, heat oil and add chana dal and urad dal. After they turn golden brown, add mustard seeds. Then add cumin and dry red chillies. Once dry red chillies turn brownish, add curry leaves. Now add chopped onion, green chillies and fry until golden brown. Then add chopped plantain. Fry for 10 minutes. In the end, add salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder. Mix well and turn off the flame. Once the fry cools down, add lemon juice and mix well. Serve along with rice or as a side dish.
