PEPPER FISH FRY

Cuisine: Kerala state of India






Ingredients:

Fish slices – ½ kg

Whole black pepper – 2 teaspoons

Dry red chillies – 4

Salt – as required

Oil – for shallow frying




Method:

In a mixer, coarsely grind black pepper and dry red chilies together. Marinate the fish pieces with salt and the ground spice powder for 1 hour. In a tawa/skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Drop 2-3 marinated fish pieces into the hot oil. After they turn slightly brown, flip to the other side and fry. Once the fish slices turn slightly brown on both sides, remove them from the tawa/skillet. Similarly, fry the rest of the marinated fish slices. Serve hot.
